Welcoming Nicky: Red River’s New Director of Outreach & Operations

At Red River Community Corps, we believe our people are the driving force behind our mission. That’s why we are so excited to welcome Nicky Kazerooni as our new Director of Outreach & Operations. With deep nonprofit experience and a passion for strengthening communities, Nicky brings the skills and perspective needed to expand Red River’s reach and impact across Oklahoma.

A Strong Foundation in Service

Originally from Mustang, Oklahoma, Nicky is a proud Oklahoma State University alumnus (Go Pokes!). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Geography with a minor in Nonprofit Management, as well as a Master of Science in Global Leadership & Public Diplomacy. His studies and volunteer experiences built a strong foundation in nonprofit work, international aid and development.

Professionally, Nicky has held roles that reflect his commitment to service. He worked as a Family Services case manager for Oklahoma Human Services, connecting families with essential state benefits, and later served as a Program Officer for Oklahoma AmeriCorps — supporting local nonprofits, including Red River, in securing and managing national service funding.

A Vision for Growth at Red River

Nicky is especially excited to return to outreach work through Red River. His top priority is strengthening and rekindling partnerships, particularly after a challenging year for many nonprofits due to shifts in federal funding. He’s focused on expanding Red River’s host site portfolio and spreading awareness about AmeriCorps opportunities.

“I believe host site collaboration can inspire creativity, spark new nonprofit leaders and ultimately serve more communities across Oklahoma,” Nicky shared.

One of Nicky’s strengths is his approach to communication. He values transparency, big-picture thinking and working hand-in-hand with partners to achieve their goals.

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Nicky enjoys exploring Oklahoma City with his partner Evelin and their two lively dachshunds, Joey and Lola. Whether cheering on his alma mater or checking out local districts around OKC, he brings the same energy and community spirit to his personal life that he brings to Red River.

Looking Ahead

As Nicky steps into his first year with Red River Community Corps, his goal is simple but powerful: ensure every host site in the 2025–26 service year has a successful experience. With his leadership, dedication, and collaborative mindset, Red River is ready to strengthen partnerships, build new opportunities and grow its impact across Oklahoma.

Please join us in welcoming Nicky to the Red River Community Corps team!
